Arthur M. Michalek, PhD was the Director of the Division of Health Service Policy and Practice until May 2016. Michalek was at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (RPCI) for 34 years having first joined as a cancer research scientist/epidemiologist in the Department of Cancer Control and Epidemiology. In 1997, he was appointed Dean of the Roswell Park Graduate Division at the University at Buffalo. He has also seved as a senior vice president with responsibilities for all aspects of education and training as well as research ethics. Upon his retirement from RPCI in 2010, he led the Health Policy Doctoral Program at D’Youville College before coming to the university in 2014. Michalek also is an adjunct professor at SUNY Albany School of Public Health and has served as an outside reviewer to numerous national and international programs. He earned his doctoral degree in epidemiology at the University at Buffalo in 1980.
