Continuing Education

Our workforce training addresses the needs of area health professionals and practitioners, and prepares our students to be tomorrow’s public health leaders.

Our programs are developed based on findings from training needs assessments and with input from professionals and communities engaged in improving the public’s health. Our training aims to expand knowledge, strengthen skills, share innovations and explore current public health challenges and solutions.

Continuing Education Units for Professionals Certified in Public Health

We offer continuing education (CE) units for professionals with the Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential. Visit the national CPH training portal to see available trainings that qualify. As a National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE) certified continuing education provider, all our continuing education offerings are listed on the nbphe.org website.

To view the list of offerings:

  1. Go to nbphe.org.
  2. In the navigation bar, choose 'Stay Certified' and select 'Find Approved Activities'.
  3. Select 'Distance Learning' for Location.
  4. Click the 'Search' button.
  5. Scroll down the page to view a list of online offerings for 'University at Buffalo School of Public Health and Health Professions'.

For Professionals with Credentials other than CPH

Our workshops and seminars may also be used as continuing education for professionals with other credentials. Refer to the workshops available on the CPH training portal, and the credentialing organization of interest to learn how to submit workshop documentation for these CE units.
