Profile
Dr. Mu joined the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine as an Assistant Professor in June 2008. Previously she was an AACR scholar in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at Yale University School of Medicine.
Research Interests
Dr. Mu’s research focuses primarily on environmental epidemiology, in particular cancer etiological studies in relation to environmental pollution. Her work has explored the associations between indoor and outdoor air pollution with lung cancer, water pollution with liver function alteration and three Upper-GI cancers (esophageal, stomach and liver cancer). Current research includes biological response to the dramatic change in air quality, gene-environmental interaction in the development of lung cancer, and gene expression and breast cancer survival.
