Center on Knowledge Translation for Technology Transfer (KT4TT).

The Center on Knowledge Translation for Technology Transfer (KT4TT) is a program of the Center of Assistive Technology at the University at Buffalo, sponsored by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research Agency (NIDILRR).

The role of the KT4TT program is to assist NIDILRR Grantees and potential applicants who are planning or conducting technology-oriented R&D projects for the purpose of generating beneficial impacts for persons with disabilities. Our primary objectives are:

  • Increase R&D stakeholders' understanding of technology transfer processes and practices that lead to successful commercialization
  • Increase Grantee’s capacity to plan and engage in technology transfer activities
  • Increase Grantee’s rate of success in the transfer of rehabilitation technology products to the marketplace, into standards/guidelines, instruments/tools or other intended applications
