Research Topics

Psychosocial practice across the lifespan, especially with youth with emotional and behavioral disabilities, wellness programming for adults facing retirement, aging in place, and clinical education for occupational therapy students.

Summary

Jo A. Schweitzer, MS, OTR/L, served as the associate academic fieldwork coordinator for the Occupational Therapy BS/MS program, and taught courses for occupational therapy pre-majors through advanced MS students. These courses focused on the introduction to the discipline, psychosocial practice, issues in service delivery, community based practice, emerging practice areas and applied geriatrics. Schweitzer continues to teach within the UB OT program and assists with clinical placement administrative duties as an adjunct instructor.
