Katherine LeBlanc

Katherine LeBlanc.

When it came to a profession, Katherine LeBlanc wanted one that combined her love of the human body and physical fitness with her desire to connect with and help people. “Physical therapy was the perfect marriage of it all,” she said.

She enrolled in UB’s DPT program after earning a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.

A highlight of the program was faculty support. "They were enlightening, accommodating and always willing to help," she said.

Leadership Training

“In addition to the exceptional education, I gained real-life leadership experience. I served as the student-faculty liaison during my first year in graduate school, and later as class president. As president, I was responsible for coordinating volunteer and community service events and social gatherings, as well as spearheading a committee to raise funds for the Foundation for Physical Therapy.”

Today, LeBlanc is a physical therapist at Harris Hill Sub-acute Rehab Facility. She works with patients who have had recent surgeries or other medical events such as total hip and knee replacements, cardiac surgeries, fractures and cerebrovascular accidents.
