Richard V. Lee Lecture in Global Health - September 2017

The School of Public Health and Health Professions welcomed leading global health scholar Claudio Lanata, MD, MPH, to UB on Sept. 29, 2017 for the second annual Richard V. Lee Lecture in Global Health.

A brief biography of Lanata and a video recording of his 2017 Richard V. Lee lecture are available here.  

Lanata is very interested in developing collaborative relationships with colleagues at UB. Students and faculty are encouraged to contact OGHI for more information on research opportunities with Lanata at the Nutritional Research Institute in Lima, Peru.

Global Health Experience in Battling Infectious Disease - October 2017

On October 27, 2017 visiting scholar Linqi Zhang, PhD met with SPHHP students for conversation on global health research and his experience as a scholar in the US and China. Zhang is Professor and Director of the Comprehensive AIDS Research Center, Center for Health and Infectious Diseases, School of Medicine at Tsinghua University.

On November 17, 2017 Emily Cercone, MPH, shared her extensive professional experience in global health with UB students and faculty. She joined us remotely to discuss her current work at the CDC Foundation, and offered students insight into opportunities and resources for careers in global health. The event was organized as part of UB's 2017 International Education week.
