MD/PhD Program
Curriculum
The MSTP curriculum is designed to optimize and integrate both the clinical and research experiences throughout participation in the program. Students in the Medical Scientist Training Program are normally expected to complete a seven year combined program – four years in Medical School (the M.D. component) and three years in Graduate School (the Ph.D. component) at UB. The Ph.D. component of the program will immediately follow the first two years of the M.D. component. During the first and second years of the (M.D. component), students will enroll in the required Medical School courses along with the MSTP Research Seminar to augment their educational experience. MSTP students are expected to receive a grade at or above the 50th percentile for the class average in all Medical School Courses.
More in-depth information can be found on the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences' MSTP curriculum website and at SMBS program, where you will find answers to questions about Tuition & Fees, Application Procedures and Prerequisites / Requirements.
