What does a PhD in Community Health afford me when
it comes to employment?
Graduates are able to assume research positions in public health
organizations, universities, government and industry; teach at the
university level; and work in positions where epidemiology is used
to plan public health programs designed to prevent or control disease.
Is financial assistance available?
There are a limited number of graduate assistantships available
for full-time doctoral students. The assistantships are competitive
and awarded on the basis of merit. Assistantships include a $18,000
stipend with tuition scholarship. Students are expected to work
20 hours in the department and remain in good academic standing.
