Nadine Fisher, Ed.D., Director

Dr. Fisher received her doctorate in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo in 1991. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy in the School of Health Related Professions at the University at Buffalo. She also has secondary appointments in the University's departments of Rehabilitation Medicine, Physiology and Medicine (Division of Geriatrics). Currently, she is the Director of the Ph.D. Program in Rehabilitation Science, which is a multidisciplinary program that involves faculty from the Schools of Health Related Professions (Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy), Medicine (Rehabilitation Medicine and Sports Medicine (Orthopedics)), Arts and Sciences (Communicative Disorders and Sciences), Nursing, and Architecture.

Dr. Fisher has conducted exercise-related research in the major areas of geriatrics, arthritis, multiple sclerosis and post-polio syndrome. She has worked with geriatric populations ranging from well elderly through frail nursing home residents, and arthritis populations such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile arthritis. Dr. Fisher collaborates with faculty from Physical Therapy, Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Neurology, Pediatrics, and Physiology.
