Position Description: Program Director for an entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Position is a non-tenure track, 10 month appointment at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor.
Qualifications: Earned post-professional doctoral degree; 5 years of academic experience; demonstrated experience in leadership/administration; licensed or eligible for PT licensure in New York.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant will understand higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leading a physical therapy program; provide vision, leadership, and effective management for continued growth of the program; demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills; evaluate and mentor core faculty on a regular basis, in collaboration with the department chair; report program activities to the departmental chair; maintain program compliance with CAPTE; work with other departments and schools in addressing and resolving issues affecting the DPT program; direct the program allocated budget; oversee and direct the admissions process; meet with students to address student concerns; work collaboratively with the Clinical Education Director and the Director of the Occupational Therapy program; contribute to the teaching, scholarship, and service missions of the program, department, school, and university. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in musculoskeletal rehabilitation or health care administration and management.
