Electronics Lab

An Electronics Lab is available to SPHHP faculty for research, coursework and graduate projects and has a full range of basic electronics equipment and components.

Lab Equipment (includes) [top]

  • Digital and Analog Oscilloscopes
  • Power Supplies
  • Pulse Generator
  • Function Generator
  • Counters and Timers
  • Multimeters
  • Universal Programmer
  • Soldering Irons and Solder
  • Components (many standard analog and digital ICs, static RAM, microprocessors, etc)
  • Prototyping (fixtures, wire wrap tools, wire, perf-boards, proto-boards, etc)
  • Hand Tools (screw drivers, wire strippers, pliers, files, saws, wrenches, sockets, etc)

Material Usage and Replacement [top]

The Electronics Lab has many common integrated circuits, discrete components, interface hardware, various wire gauges, prototyping hardware, housings, solder, cabling, etc in stock. In order to keep this lab available for general use, faculty must purchase or restock any materials used on their projects.

Faculty must agree to replace any lab equipment that is lost or damaged through inappropriate use.

Location and Availability [top]

The Electronics lab is located in Kimball 206. Normally the Electronics Lab will be open at pre-arranged times Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Lab Reservations [top]

Keith Conroy (krconroy@buffalo.edu, 829-3141 x 149) is the Electronics Lab supervisor. All faculty must contact Keith in order to reserve days and times for Electronics Lab use.
