The University at Buffalo SUNY School of Public Health and
Health Professions has been awarded a $1.2 million grant from the
National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health to
study the association between vitamin D status and two leading
causes of vision loss in the U.S., age-related macular degeneration
and diabetic retinopathy. Assistant professor and nutritional
epidemiologist Dr. Amy Millen is the principal investigator.
