HIV/AIDS Epidemic and Control: China CARES
Na He received Bachelor degree in Medicine (MBBS) and MSc in Epidemiology at the former Shanghai Medical University, graduated with PhD in Epidemiology from University of California, Los Angeles, U.S. and was trained in molecular biology as a visiting scholar at Hadassah Medical School of The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel.
Na He was appointed as a faculty member at Fudan University thereafter and promoted to full professor in 2006. He has extensive experience in epidemiological research of HIV and clinical comorbidities under combination antiretroviral therapy (cART). Na He is a pioneer in biomedical intervention to prevent HIV transmission using antiretroviral drugs including early initiation of cART for patients, treatment as prevention (TasP) for HIV-serodiscordant couples, and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for men who have sex with men (MSM) in China.
Na He is a member of Academic Degree Committee of the State Council and Vice Director of Public Health Division of the Chinese Medical Association, a senior consultant to China’s Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education and has been actively involved in national public health education, promotion and multilevel campaigns. He has over 250 publications including over 100 papers in international journals and a chapter in the Oxford Textbook of Global Public Health.
