SPHHP Academic Service Award

The SPHHP Academic Service Award, initiated in 2003, recognizes contributions to academic service that have been made by volunteers or adjunct faculty to one or more academic programs within the School.  The award is presented at the Perry Lecture.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Volunteers or adjunct faculty members affiliated with at least one SPHHP academic program, but whose primary academic identity is not in the SPHHP.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of service to one or more of SPHHP’s academic programs.
  3. Service in the form of teaching, research mentoring/supervision, clinical mentoring/supervision.

Procedure

Department Chairs nominate a person(s) deserving of this award.  They simply submit a paragraph or two summarizing his/her history with the SPHHP/program, and a brief description of why they believe he/she is deserving of the award.  Nominations are sent to Barbara Putzig putzig@buffalo.edu in the SPHHP Dean’s Office.  Each year, the selection committee can choose up to two winners of this award.
