Sutanuka Bhattacharjya

Sutanuka Bhattacharjya.

Sutanuka Bhattacharjya chose to pursue a career as an occupational therapist to be able to work with people on a daily basis, to combine her interests in physical and mental health and to draw on her creativity.

While completing a bachelor’s degree in the field, Bhattacharjya began to focus on working with pediatric populations. “It was easy for me to build a rapport with children,” she said. “I grew interested in the area of sensory integration in school-age children, and I also wanted to gain more knowledge about early intervention.”

Looking to build on her education, she chose to attend UB for a master’s degree because she could pursue a concentration in school-based therapy/early intervention. In addition to studying the specialization of her choice, Bhattacharjya said there was much to appreciate about UB’s degree program.

“I loved the interactive and friendly nature of the program,” she said. “The instructors constantly made efforts to use innovative ideas to make the learning process more interesting. And the curriculum was well planned to prepare a graduate for the real world.”
