Christina Weston, DI, MS

Hear about Christina's experiences at UB while pursuing a master's degree in nutrition and completing the dietetic internship program.

Christina graduated from the School of Public Health and Health Professions in the May 2016 with a Master of Science (MS) in nutrition. Prior to graduating, she also passed the national examination to become a registered dietitian after successful completion of the Dietetic Internship program.

While at UB, Christina worked as a sports nutritionist for UB Sports Nutrition, a department in the Division of Athletics. In this role, Christina and the other sports nutritionist on staff, worked closely with student athletes to provide nutritional counseling services and various game-day activities.

"I worked with the athletes every day to ensure they had enough meals and that they were eating well to stay within their individual nutritional regimen. While good nutrition is important for everyone, athletes in particular can feel firsthand how poor nutrition and or diet can impact performance."

Now a UB alumna, Christina reflects on her time at UB with found memories and hopes that more students with a passion for sports and nutrition head to UB.

"I can't even begin to explain how much I learned from the program and I hope there are so many more motivated students that find their way here."

Christina is now a sports dietitian for the University of Illinois and is working toward becoming a board certified specialist in sports dietetics (CSSD) and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS).
