Peter Horvath, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences
Projects: Working in partnership with the UB Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics, Horvath traveled to Zimbabwe to help launch the Zimbabwe International Nanotechnology Center and Zimbabwe Evidence-to-Action programs. Horvath provided a seminar for the University of Zimbabwe Departments of Pediatrics and Biochemistry titled "Nutritional Aspects of HIV Infection and Treatment". Horvath is also the Academic Director for the academies at UB and he teaches a new undergraduate seminar "Feeding the World, Global Nutrition".
Research Interests: Exercise nutrition, vitamin D and physical activity, nutrition and sports performance.
Zachary Schlader, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences
Projects: Schladar had the opportunity to undertake his PhD at Massey University (New Zealand). His PhD thesis developed, and later utilized, an exercise model that enabled him to evaluate some of the mechanisms underlying human adaptive behavior during thermal stress.
Specialty/Research Focus: Investigating the impact, and mechanisms, of environmental stress on human behavior, as well as ways to mitigate any adverse effects.
