Faculty Affairs

The Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs (ADFA) is responsible for matters pertaining to faculty in the School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP). As ADFA, Dr. Scott White works collaboratively with the Dean, Associate Deans and department Chairs to facilitate the professional growth of faculty and support the academic mission of the School.

The ADFA assists the Dean, Associate Dean and Chairs on matters related to:

• Faculty orientation, mentoring and retention
  • University at Buffalo Faculty/Staff Handbook
    • Organizational Chart
    • UB Council
    • UB Foundation
  • Agreement between United University Professions and the State of New York
  • The State University of New York Policies of the Board of Trustees
• The process of faculty promotion and tenure review
• Faculty awards and recognition
• Graduate faculty status applications
  • Graduate School Faculty Resources
• Specific School related duties assigned by the Dean

The ADFA is responsible for:

• Communication between IT and the Dean's office
• Coordinating the Perry, SPHHP Spring lecture, and the annual meeting.

• SPHHP policy and procedures
  • Submitting Graduate Faculty nomination material to SPHHP Dean's Office
  • Annual Review of School of Public Health and Health Professions Bylaws
• SPHHP faculty council and UB senate representation
