Mary Dedrick assists students in securing internships and practicums. She also teaches ES 450 - Professional Development which helps prepare students for their full semester internship. She initiates affiliation agreements with new internship sites and maintains the database of over 200 affilated sites where students can participate in clinical experiences.
Dedrick received her MS degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her master's thesis was on the effect of aging on muscle damage and repair in young and older women. She has worked in corporate, community and hospital-based settings. Prior to working at the University at Buffalo, she was the Director of Tobacco Control for the American Cancer Society. She also worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Health Promotion and at E.I. DuPont as a Wellness Consultant.
