Summary

Sarah Krzyzanowicz became the coordinator of clinical education, and clinical instructor of the athletic training program at the University at Buffalo School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP) in July 2018. Krzyzanowicz is responsible for teaching within the masters of athletic training program (MSAT) where she focuses on preparing students to practice in the field of athletic training. As the coordinator of clinical education, she is responsible for initiating affiliation agreements and securing clinical sites where she will assign MSAT students to complete their athletic training clinical experiences. Other program responsibilities include assisting with obtaining and maintaining accreditation by the CAATE, training preceptors, reviewing and evaluating clinical sites and preceptors, and assisting with program development.

Prior to joining SPHHP, Sarah spent six years at Williams College in Williamstown MA, where she was an assistant athletic trainer. In that role she was primarily responsible for overseeing the care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of various collegiate sports. She also served on several committees, oversaw the development and management of the emergency procedures within the athletics department, and served as a clinical preceptor. At this same time, Sarah served as an adjunct faculty at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) teaching various courses within the department of biology which included, anatomy and physiology, community first aid and safety and senior seminar. Prior to Williams and MCLA Sarah worked at West Virginia University Institute of Technology where she held a dual role working clinically as an athletic trainer for the athletics department as well as taught within the department of Physical Education.

Sarah earned her master’s degree in athletic training education from Old Dominion University and completed her undergraduate education at Lock Haven University. She has been a certified athletic trainer since 2008.
