Your first step is to apply to UB early in the fall of your senior year of high school. To be considered for a merit scholarship, apply by Dec. 1 and provide supporting documents (test scores, transcripts and letters of recommendation) by Dec. 31.
Applying to UB online is fast, easy and secure. Choose the Common Application or the State University of New York (SUNY) application. A $50 non-refundable fee is required with each option.
Schedule an appointment with an advisor from the Office of Academic and Student Affairs (OASA) each semester at firstname.lastname@example.org or 716-829-5000.
Submit a Promotion to Professional Sequence application. A minimum GPA of 2.0 in prerequisite courses* is required to advance. Priority will be given to students that apply by February 15.
Students planning to apply to the DPT program may do so in the fall of their junior or senior year. The deadline to submit the DPT application is November 1.
Students who are accepted to the DPT program will have three additional years of graduate study to complete the program. Students that enter the DPT program directly after the third year of the Exercise Science program will not receive a bachelor’s degree.
*Students planning to apply to the DPT program should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in required prerequisite courses.
As a transfer student, you must first apply online to the University at Buffalo. Next, you will need to submit a Promotion to Professional Sequence (PPS) application. The PPS application should be submitted when the required prerequisite courses will be completed. To begin classes in fall, your UB application should be submitted by January 15 and your PPS application should be submitted by February 15. You will also need to request that copies of all of your official transcripts be sent to UB’s Office of Admissions.
A course MUST be articulated through UB to be used as a prerequisite on your PPS Application. Refer to taurus.buffalo.edu for more information on courses at other schools that are equivalent to UB courses. Contact the Office for Academic and Student Affairs (OASA) to ensure that prerequisite courses taken at other colleges or universities satisfy program prerequisites: 716-829-5000 or email@example.com.
Exercise science courses are open to students who have declared and been accepted in the major. If you are a student from another UB program, you may petition for permission to register for two exercise science courses. Submit a petition to firstname.lastname@example.org including the following items at least one week prior to the registration deadline:
