International Admissions

Registration Eligibility

Learn about how to establish registration eligibility through the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the accrediting agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Please note: this involves one, non-refundable application fee one $50 application fee to the graduate program, by way of an online credit card; see below for additional details).

Application Deadline

Apply no later than Feb. 15, 2018 for the 2018/2019 academic year.

Application and Requirements

  • Your first step is to apply to the University at Buffalo Dietetic Internship with Master of Science in Nutrition through the online Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Services (DICAS). This service will provide us with your application, along with three recommendation forms, unofficial transcripts, a verification statement or Declaration of Intent to Complete the Degree form and personal statement of career objectives and plans.   • Next, you will prioritize your internships by participating in a computer matching program through D&D Digital Systems.

Graduate Application and Requirements

  • First, apply to the University at Buffalo online and select Nutrition (MS) from the drop down list. Make sure to include your electronic signature on the application or it will be listed as incomplete.
  • A $50 non-refundable application fee is required. Pay via a credit card as part of the online application.

Final Requirements

  • Once accepted to the Dietetic Internship with Master of Science in Nutrition, submit the following required materials.
    • Verification statement signed by your didactic program director. If you have not completed all coursework, include a signed Declaration of Intent to Complete the Degree form and/or a signed Approval of Minimum Academic Requirements.
    • Original transcripts from every institution (including University at Buffalo) that you have attended. Transcripts must show a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 for undergraduate work. Transcripts reflecting bachelor's degree conferral date must be sent to Jennifer Temple, PhD, ENS Graduate Director, University at Buffalo, 1 Farber Hall, Buffalo, NY 14214.
    • GRE scores. Scores do not have to be included in the application packet but must be completed prior to the start of the internship (by Aug. 1). When requesting scores, use code 2925 for UB and 0214 for nutrition. Learn more about requesting GRE scores.
    • TOEFL exam scores of greater than 549 on the written test or 212 on the computer-based test.

Secondary recommendations and career statements are NOT required for the graduate application since you will send this information in your formal internship application through DICAS.
