This program will prepare you to excel in a career as both an investigator and a clinician educator.
On average, the program takes seven years to complete– four years for the MD component and three or more years for the PhD component.
MSTP students are expected to receive a grade at or above the 50th percentile for the class average in all medical school courses. In the PhD component, students are expected to receive a letter grade of B+ or better in all courses.
To allow you to concentrate on your studies and research, we
provide full financial support throughout the MSTP program. The
funding is provided as a fellowship by the Jacobs School of
Medicine and Biomedical Sciences during the MD component and as a
stipend by the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health
during the PhD component. Learn more about the program’s financial
