Clinical Assessment (Fall)
Supervised Practice
- Clinical Orientation (2 weeks)
- Acute Care: 7 weeks
- Long Term Care: 4 weeks
- Specialty Care:
- Outpatient Dialysis Center: 1 week
- CHOB/Outpatient Clinics: 1 week
- Niagara Family Health Center (Physical Assessment practice): 1 day
(Total Hours: 312; practice consists of 4 days per week at 6 hours/day)
Didactic
- Focus: Topics in Domain I and Domain II and related topics
- Practice Exam for Domains I and II
Graduate Courses
- NTR 500: Energy and Protein Nutrition
- NTR 523: Nutrition Assessment (or pre-approved elective)
Food Service and Management (Spring)
Supervised Practice
- Food Service and Management Orientation: 2 weeks
- Institutional Food Service: 4 weeks
- Community Food Service: 6 weeks
- Specialty Care:
- People Inc.: 1 week
- RPCI: 1 week
- Nutrition Support/ECMC: 1 week
- CNM: 1 week
Didactic
- Focus: Topics in Domain IV and Domain V and related topics
- Practice Exam for Domains IV and V
Graduate Courses
Nutrition and Community Wellness, Research (Summer)
Supervised Practice
- Community Programs:
- WIC: 1 week
- Schofield (long term home health care): 1 week
- NTR 524 Project: 1 week
- Community Wellness: 9 weeks
- Research: 9 week
- Specialty Rotation: 1 week
(Total Hours: 448; practice consists of 5 days per week at 8 hours per day; includes 3 days per week for community wellness and 2 days per week for research)
Didactic
- Focus: Topics in Domain III, related topics, community nutrition topics found throughout the other domains and community wellness (public health, social and preventive medicine) topics
- Practice Exam for Domain III
