Competencies

The Master of Science (MS) training program in community health and health behavior is designed to enable students to:

  • Apply methodological skills that can be used to address community health and health behavior research questions. (CHB 605 Basic Research Methods for Community Health and Health Behavior)
  • Analyze and interpret data applicable to public health. (STA 527 Statistical Analysis 1) 
  • Critically evaluate original community health and health behavior research. (CHB 601 Principles of Community Health and Health Behavior)
  • Design an evidence-based intervention that addresses behavioral determinants and is framed by a conceptual model. (CHB 602 Community Health and Health Behavior Interventions)
  • Apply ethical principles to research. (CHB 605 Basic Research Methods for Community Health and Health Behavior)
