Description: Many Universities have relationships with industrial partners resulting in a two way flow of information. Industrial partners have access some to university expertise and resources and visa versa. The liaison between these groups is generally facilitated through university based industrial extension services.

Advantages: This service can be invaluable in getting products created. The two way flow of information can spark creativity which ultimately leads to commercialization.

Limitations: Can be difficult to match industrial partners with university researchers and can be very time consuming.
