The Department of Biostatistics educates and trains biostatistical scientists; collaborates with researchers at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences; collaborates with researchers in clinical and public health; conducts methodological research; collaborates with local, state, and national health institutions; and serves the School of Public Health and Health Professions, the university, and the statistics and public health professions. Department faculty and students work together to develop and apply statistical methods in bioinformatics, epidemiology, public health, and clinical, laboratory, or other health sciences.
