Minority Organ Donation Education Program, Inc.
The Minority Organ Donation Education Program (MODEP) was developed in response to the lack of information available to minority populations concerning organ donation. The overall goal of MODEP is to serve minority communities by educating minorities concerning organ donation and other health issues that affect their quality of life. MODEP is working in collaboration with area churches, educational institutions, community organizations, and the School of Public Health to address these and other health issues that affect the African-American and other minority communities.
Spirituality in Health Care Committee
The purpose of the Spirituality in Health Care Committee is to address ethical and spiritual aspects of medicine and patient care, to prepare students for issues that arise during clinical practice, and to promote understanding of the patient as a whole integrated being.
WNY Alliance in Rural Healthy People 2010
The WNY Public Health Alliance is a program of the Healthy People 2010: A Companion Document for Rural Areas project, funded with grant support from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy. The purpose of this research project is to develop a companion document to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Healthy People 2010 objectives, a document addressing rural priorities. Utilizing research literature, contacts with rural communities, and other organizations and experts, the companion document includes literature reviews and descriptions of Models for Practice for selected objectives associated with 15 of the Healthy People 2010 focus areas identified by rural stakeholders as rural priorities. For each rural priority area the seriousness of the problem and Models for Practice that have been usefully employed by rural communities are described.
Niagara Regional Consortium on Technology, Rehabilitation, Aging, Disability & Environments (NRC-TRADE)
The Niagara Regional Consortium on Technology, Rehabilitation, Aging, Disability & Environments (NRC-TRADE) connects the diverse resources of Western New York and Southern Ontario, to pursue research, development and commercialization opportunities currently beyond the scope of any particular enterprise or sector. The NRC-TRADE significantly expands the array of expertise and capabilities available to members committed to bringing new or improved products to the marketplace.
